The 2002 Kajaks International Track Classic took place yesterday night, at Clement track. It seems that the rain never stopped. But several athletes still managed to break meet records:

  • Men 100m: Nicolas Macrozonaris, 10.41 (wind: +0.4)
  • Men 1000m: Rodolfo Gomez, Mexico, 2:26.24
  • Men High Jump: Jas Gill, Valley Royals, 2.06m
  • Men Long Jump: Mark Ramos, Kajaks, 7.10m
  • Women Masters Mile: Maureen de Sainte-Croix, 5:07.77

In the 100m, although Robert Esmie ran faster (10.34) in 1997, the wind was over the limit.
Unofficially, Avril Douglas' performance in the Mile (5:41.38) constitutes a new Canadian record for Women 55-59. The previous record (6:20.6) was established more than 20 years ago by Jean Cleator. Avril's new record is better than her own Canadian record for Women 50-54 (5:43.0) that she established in 1998.
The complete results can be found here.
