April 6/04 - Our weight room is now fully stocked with weights and bench, thanks to some generous donations.
But... before we can really use it, the weight room (a.k.a. the Kajaks storage shed) needs to be cleaned out and the equipment inventoried. Also Richard has a track cleaning job planned. So here's a great opportunity to cross off some of those Kajaks Volunteer hours, while doing some spring cleaning.
Sunday April 25th 12:30-3:30pm is cleanup day. If you can help, please let Ken Johns know (email penj@telus.net) or by phone.

Also... the Kajaks tractor is not working - a problem with the starter motor is suspected. If you are mechanically inclined and could help, please contact Richard Collier (email rcollier@lynx.net).

Lastly, our Equipment Manager has left. If anyone would like to take on this position, please contact Richard.

Yvonne Mensah of Kajaks, now attending the University of Illinois, set a new track record at the Big 10 championships in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.41s. This is according to the University of Illinois website.

Another Kajaks athlete doing well is Catrina Chisholm of the University of Pennsylvania. In her championships in Ithaca, NY she placed 4th in the weight throw with a toss of 52'8" and this gives her the third best throw in Penn history.
