Kajaks Fun Relay Meet

Cost (2006 fees): (payable to Kajaks)
$40 per club for 1-10 competitors
$50 per club for 11-16 competitors
$60 per club for 16-20 competitors

The above charge to each club is to simply cover the cost of the BBQ.
We will provide food for all competitors. Food will be available for
purchase for all non competitors. Enter as many relay teams as you would
like. This is going to be a fun meet for the whole family; we are also
trying to build on the team approach to track. The events are listed
below. This will also give your relay teams a chance to practice before
the National Meet.
Age: JD, JUV, JR, SR, Masters
The age groups for events
JD grouped together 9-15,
Juv, Jr, Sr will be separate as they will possibly be practicing for
nationals
Track & Field Events: Events will be running time starting
at 6:00 pm
Throws relay Discus, followed by Javelin, and then Shot Put
50 m Shuttle Hurdles relay
4 x 100 m
4 x 100 m Family Relay
4 x 400 m
Sprint medley (100, 100, 200, 400)
Distance medley (200, 200, 400, 800)
Throws relay Discus, Javelin, and Shot Put
Rules
50 m Shuttle Hurdles relay
This will require 5 competitors, 3 at the start and 2 at the finish.
1st competitor will start at the start line. They will run jumping the
scissor hurdles to the finish line passing a baton to their team mate who
runs jumping the scissor hurdles back to the start line and passes to the
next team mate and so on until everyone has run with the race ending at
the finish line.
Family relay
Only two Rules: One team member must be aged 12 or under; plus any two
team members must be immediate family members or live in the same
household.
Field events relay
Your team will consist of 3 different athletes 1 for each field event.
With trying to support team approach we will run one event at a time so
that the teammates can cheer each other on. We will start with Discus,
then Javelin followed by Shot put. We will go through each age group
before moving to the next event.
